Kevin and Katie managed to capture every moment of our wedding day perfectly. Looking back at our photos fills me with such wonder and magic as I’m able to relive that day. Their process is so organic and natural too, they managed to make my camera shy husband feel comfortable. I also had boudoir photos done with Katie and they came out better than I could have dreamed of. The confidence I felt from that session was unreal. I couldn’t be happier and plan on hiring them again in the future.

Kevin and Katie are an incredible team. Professional, caring, experienced and talented.

We hired them to photograph our elopement in Italy. They arrived at the wedding venue a few days prior to scope out locations to ensure we got the best possible photos. On the day, they were there from start to finish and even dealt fabulously with storms forecast all day! They are relaxed and go with the flow making the day fun and stress-free. In between rain, they managed to get a great variety of photos for us that we treasure more and more every day.
In addition to the wedding, we also had a pre-wedding shoot in Milan and Katie fitted in a mini boudoir session on my wedding day - these extras made it really good value for money.

Wouldn’t hesitate in recommending K Hulett Photography to anyone, internationally. They are super lovely and produce timeless and beautiful images. We wished they lived closer to us in Australia so that we could hire them more often!

What’s included? Our rates are made up of these six components:

  1. Coverage (the time we spend capturing your wedding)

The average wedding day needs 8-12 hours of photography coverage. We like to arrive 1-1.5 hours before the bride puts her dress on to capture all the gown/accessory details and the tail end of hair and makeup. We’ll be with the couple and their family/friends all day to capture every moment, and typically leave after we have everything the couple has planned for their reception. If the couple has planned a send-off, we recommend booking at least a 10-hour package, or adding additional hours.

Here is a general breakdown of how much time is needed for wedding photography:

  • 1-1.5 hr Getting Ready photos: This covers the tail-end of hair/makeup to getting into the dress/suit/tux, photos of friends and family hanging out, a bit of set up. These photos tend to have a quiet, anticipatory vibe and include shots of your venue, the bees buzzing around flowers, your mom trying not to cry already, etc. They also make for great openers for your wedding album and slideshow.

  • 1 hr First Look with Portraits (optional): This is where the couple sees each other for the first time on their wedding day. Logistically, doing a first look helps tidy up the day and makes it less stressful, grouping formal portraits to the front part of the day so the couple can enjoy their ceremony and reception without worrying. This is optional, about 2/3 of our weddings do a first look. But we also love when the couple sees each other for the first time as you walk down the aisle.

  • 1 hr Group Portraits (optional): Family and wedding party group photos. Portraits of the groomsmen and bridesmaids with the couple separately and all together. Then, photos of the immediate family, typically following the ceremony, with extendeds happening then or during the reception. We do this for almost every wedding, however sometimes the couple would rather we only photograph candids and that’s great too! It’s all about what you want.

  • 30 mins Ceremony coverage: This is the average time for a simple ceremony. Catholic masses, Muslim services, Jewish weddings, Indian ceremonies and other cultural festivities can take up to an hour or longer.

  • 1 hr Cocktail Hour: Happens right after the ceremony, usually for an hour. Couples may rejoin after signing their documents, or go off with us for more photos since the light is often better later in the day. Whatever you decide, we’ll help list down all the pros and cons.

  • 3 hrs Reception coverage: This covers dinner service, toasts, cake-cutting and dancing. If you decide on a sparkler exit or fireworks, more coverage may be needed.

  • 1 hr for transition buffering: For weddings with more than one location (e.g. Hotel to church to reception venue), travel takes time. There’s driving through traffic and parking, some walking perhaps. The fewer transitions, the more time we have for photos!

Finally, coverage includes our yearly expenses on top-of-the-line gear, software, hardware, licenses, insurance, marketing, and continuing education.

2. Two Photographers

Our rates reflect the time two skilled professional photographers spend capturing every moment of the wedding experience. Individually, Kevin & Katie are creative professionals who have unique artistic visions for photographing wedding days. Together, we offer our clients an unbeatable diversity of perspective and vision. Having two photographers allows a private photographer for both the bride and the groom while getting ready for the day, two different vantage points during the ceremony and other festivities, and the energy of a team working together to ensure the best possible outcomes from start to finish. Two photographers additionally allows for both to remain fresh, energized, and individually creative throughout the day, where each can support the other’s vision.

Our business is unique because we offer a two-team starting point! Many studios charge much more for an additional photographer. Since we are professional artists, one photographer can certainly capture a full wedding day. Many couples are happy with one photographer based on their venues or guest list sizes.

3. Post production (editing, curating, finessing, laying out of albums etc)

Post-production takes around three hours for every hour spent on photography coverage. We deliver only edited, finished, high resolution photographs in digital and print. This means using the latest post production software and tools, as well as archiving services to preserve and protect your photos online and offline so you have peace of mind. We also provide album layout services so you can enjoy your wedding photos for many years to come in a professionally bound album or book with archival photo papers that can last up to a century. Post-production takes about 8-12 weeks after your wedding.

4. Digital images & storage

Couples receive high resolution, licensed JPGs royalty-free and in perpetuity. They are stored online and delivered via an accessible and beautiful online, downloadable gallery. We store all our wedding files on hard drives in fire safes so our clients have peace of mind.

5. Tangibles like prints and albums

We include print credits and albums in every package so couples walk away with archival, tangible products from their weddings. We work with the top photography lab in the country and deliver exquisite prints, albums, and other printables.

Our tangible products offered range from prints, books, albums to canvas wraps and framed and matted museum-grade fine-art prints. Our online gallery system offers 24/7 shopping where you can access all these products easily for a worry-free shopping experience – AND you can share it with your family and guests as well so they may purchase digitals and/or prints or books themselves.

6. Travel fees

These rates include ALL of our travel expenses. You will not pay any additional fees. We see this work as incredibly important to our portfolio and lives as working artists. We are grateful for the chance to add our couple’s destination weddings to our portfolio, as well as experience the lovely places they choose for their weddings.
