Photographing an Ireland wedding is exactly how you might guess it is: romantic and beautiful beyond description. Add a glamorous family who is also kind and hilarious, and the seaside estate Doonbeg, and you have something like a fairytale.
We met Lynn through her sister Susann when we photographed her destination Parisian wedding a couple years prior. Their family is Irish, and Susann & Paul’s wedding was the first time we had the pleasure of experiencing Irish hospitality and kindness. Oh my goodness were we thrilled to join them once again for Lynn & Ruark’s celebrations. They were married in a tiny white church in County Clare, right on the ocean, with the salt breeze and sea grass backdrop to Lynn’s stunning Spanish lace dress and Ruark’s custom white suit.
The reception was held at Doonbeg, a jewel of a resort on the coast with the loveliest tent for a night of dancing with people who know how to throw a memorable party. The food, the cake, the shoes, the jewelry—all was luscious and lovely.
Location: County Clare, Ireland (Doonbeg Resort)

Katie’s Favorite Memory: Stepping into the reception venue was like a dream—an old hunting lodge type of place with one long room full of windows facing the sea. The wild Irish coast lent an ethereal backdrop to all the festivities, so much heart and soul in that country! I still think of this as my very favorite destination wedding photography spot I have ever worked in. Now accepting all Ireland wedding requests :)
Kevin’s Favorite Memory: I talked the boys into running and jumping into the freezing Atlantic ocean at like 8am before they got their day started. It was Raurk’s idea really, but they weren’t sure about doing it. I was like HELL YES YOU SHOULD JUMP IN THE OCEAN! So we all ran down there and they stripped down and jumped in. Hugs and celebration as they came out, it was a blast. I’m just glad I was taking photos and not getting in that freezing water myself!
