So many of the amazing people we meet in this profession come from referrals or past weddings, and sometimes out of the blue. We met Jeff almost ten years before his wedding to Jamie, at his sister Christy’s wedding to Mark waaaay back in 2009 in Colorado Springs. It was a surprise and pleasure to hear from Jamie and Jeff who were planning their celebrations in one of our favorite spots in the world: Sayulita, Mexico.
They planned the event around Villa Amore, a gorgeous GIANT villa overlooking the entire bay. The views make for luscious photographs, from Jamie getting ready in the morning (I could not get enough of her bright blue eyes and the bright blue sky and the bright blue sea), to the garden ceremony, to photos of the couple at sunset on the balconies. These are definitely some of our favorite memories from the year! We had such a great time with them, even joining their group on a booze cruise the following day where we drank piña coladas and photographed people doing back flips and cannon balls off the boat. Bliss.
Location: Sayulita, Mexico (Villa Amore)
Colors: Bright, beautiful Mexico!
Season: Winter
Katie’s Favorite Memory: The love, the LOVE at this wedding positively shone through. Not only in the way Jamie and Jeff were with each other (which, seriously, was heart burstingly beautiful to witness), but in the way their friends and family so visibly adored these two people. During the speeches at the reception, all four of Jamie’s girls and all four of Jeff’s boys stood and cried and spoke about the ways Jamie and Jeff changed their lives. The men, particularly, showed such incredible love and vulnerability toward Jeff, who I now feel like I MUST be friends with too. These two people are the best of the best and it was pure joy to be part of their wedding.
Kevin’s Favorite Memory: I’d like to second what Katie said, that’s my favorite memory too. Jeff and Jamie are two of the most wonderful people we’ve ever been able to spend a wedding with. A secondary memory for me is the booze cruise they took us on the following day, where we photographed, danced, drank and swam the day away. Overall, it was simply a magical experience from start to finish.
