Bobby and Jason’s wedding was especially close to our hearts, since Bobby is a dear friend from our time in St. George. We were so pleased he found true love with Jason, a wonderful human being we enjoyed getting to know over their wedding weekend. They were married in the wind sculpture garden in Kayenta, Utah, a unique spot in the world you should visit if you haven’t! Following the ceremony they ate and drank under the red mountains and setting sun on long family-style tables. Then late-night snacks and a drag show featuring Utah’s fiercest drag queens, with a firework cake and lit “Mr. & Mr.” sign closed the night. In between we pulled them away for sunset shots in the dusky rose light that makes the desert positively glow at the end of the day.
Location: Ivins, Utah (Kayenta)

Katie’s Favorite Memory: Shooting Bobby and Jason at sunset was magic. Whereas the ceremony and reception were full of people and noise, the desert at sunset was calm, hushed, and romantic. I remember the sun going behind the red mountains, watching Bobby look at Jason with such love, finding the sun flare between their pressed foreheads and feeling such peace. What a beautiful day!
Kevin’s Favorite Memory: The horse drawn carriage ride to the ceremony! Bobby had someone take me in his convertible and as he followed, pulled up next to and in front of the carriage, I would jump out, get photos, run around, get more photos, jump over the door and into the seat as quick as I could and he’d take off and we’d do it all again, all the way to Xetava where the ceremony was. It was a blast, I love that stuff and what an epic entrance when they pulled up!
