Elaine and I (Katie) have been friends for a long time. We studied English together at DSU and although she graduated well before me, we've continued to connect over the years. She's my Anne of Green Gables friend, who also relied on the example of Anne to help her through a very difficult childhood. Elaine is like Anne in many ways, in that she is funny and charming, values education above many other things, and can "talk the hind leg off a mule," as many of her friends can attest.
What I love about Steve, her new husband, is that he gets her and wants her to be exactly herself, all the time. He looks at her with love in his eyes and listens to her as long as she wants to talk. He makes her feel beautiful and beloved. I'm so grateful that these two found each other!
Because I love this woman so much, I'm honored to have photographed her wedding with Kevin, as our very last local wedding before moving to Washington State. Elaine and Steve wanted a Gatsby-themed celebration and did a wonderful job creating a welcoming and vibrant space to celebrate with their loved ones.
Kevin and I took them to one of Elaine's favorite places in the world (and, I must admit, one of mine as well)--the local university. This spot inspires and motivates Elaine and it was wonderful shooting there.
Lots of love to our friends, Elaine and Steve!
